This year marks Life is Art Studios’ 6th Annual Christmas Mini Event! Magic was in the air as children of all ages walked into a winter wonderland complete with hanging sparkly snowflakes, antique sleigh rides & snowballs. Oh what fun it was to watch as they explored the set with wonder in their eyes!

What made this year even more exciting was being able to offer our clients priceless heirloom art pieces, custom die cut & foil printed Christmas cards, gifts for family & friends, albums, and professional fine art prints! Wrapping final art pieces & watching as clients opened them up with huge smiles on their faces was such a treat!

I have so many wonderful clients who’ve been coming back to me for many years. When I have the opportunity to build these kinds of relationships with families I’m always amazed at how relaxed & at ease their sessions are.

This family has been to see me for maternity, newborn, 6 months, cake smash, & countless mini sessions in between! We’ve been able to capture so many precious moments for them! What happens when you build that kind of relationship with your photographer is absolutely magic! Why? It’s simple. Everyone knows what to expect, even the baby (children). The parents know I will work my magic & they don’t worry about a thing. I know when their children are giving me the “cheese face”.  I know their personalities & how to get them to shine! Some of them stop mid-portrait to give me a hug! Having the opportunity to really get to know each & every one of my clients has been a huge part of why I love what I do!

These photos are so full of LOVE! The emotion captured during their outdoor session is sure to bring tears to their eyes for many years to come!

Together during their Reveal & Order Appointment we designed an absolutely beautiful leather bound fine art album containing the last 2 years of photographs from all of their Sessions with Life is Art Studios! It’s always hard to believe how fast the first year fly’s by! When Brooklyn’s Mommy contacted me to book a cake smash I was so excited to see how much she’d grown since her newborn session. Sure enough she had the big BEAUTIFUL blue eyes & blond hair I expected. She thoroughly enjoyed her cake & ROCKED the tutu! Enjoy!

Wyatt’s Daddy just came to pick up their art, so now I get to share with you a few of the moments captured during his newborn session! This little man made my job look easy! He easily posed sleepily into his Daddy’s Police hat, & slept soundly through most of his session. He was a breeze to photograph, with an occasional glance at the camera, & a nice big newborn yawn I thoroughly enjoyed snuggling him into each pose. His parents were just as calm, cool & collected as he was. Being a Mom of 3 boys myself… those traits will serve you both well as he becomes a busy little toddler! I can’t wait to watch this little man grow & capture many more milestones to come! See you in March for your 6 month session little man!

This family traveled from Midland for their newborn session. I was instantly in love with baby D’s chubby cheeks & kissable lips! Scroll all the way through to see the beautiful keepsakes that come with an All Inclusive Package. This morning baby “D’s” Mom came back into the studio to pick up her art. I love watching my clients see their images for the first time. Only a few weeks after her session & it’s absolutely amazing how fast she’s changed!

Happy half-a-year Hailey! It always amazes me how fast that first year goes by! Every step of the way through that first year is my absolute favourite subject matter to photograph! So many changes. So many milestones are reached. Around the 6 month mark when baby’s sitting up on their own is a perfect time for portraits. Their little personalities shine through & it’s so much fun to see their reactions to my singing, dancing & crazy antics! If you’ve had a session like this with me you’ll know all about it. I’ve been known to make some of the strangest noises & song & dance numbers are sure to happen. Whatever it takes, no matter how silly I look it’s always worth smiles like these!!! Enjoy!

I grew up in a family with 12 cousins (on just one side) who were all born within 9 years of each other! If you have cousins then you’ll know what a blessing they can be. Between the 12 of us we now have 10 children of our own! It was such an honour to have the opportunity to photograph my beautiful cousin Ruth & her family as they welcome their newest member, Theodore.

My cousin Ruth is an amazing artist in Toronto, ON & she surprised me during her session with the most amazing gift she could have ever given me! A friend & fellow photographer took this cherished photo of my husband & I. Ruth saw it on Facebook & it inspired her to paint this gorgeous work of art. Best surprise EVER!
